For this blog post, I wanted to introduce you to a dear friend, Brenda Charbonneau, who is standing here in front of an Egyptian pyramid. Brenda is Registered Nurse, specializing in Hospice Care. She is also an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist who I trained back in 2009. I asked her to write about her favorite oils and how she uses them with her patients and their families, and I thought what she wrote was so beautiful, I wanted to share this with you all. I think her words will inspire you too.
“Sacred Frankincense and Frankincense are my love oils when someone is ready to crossover. Diffusion and placing the oils on the soles of feet is most beneficial when they are preparing for the transition. I may hum Amazing Grace quietly under my breath as I hold space open for them. I never facilitate grounding at this stage.
Using Lavender to massage on the lower legs and hands can be extremely soothing when someone is experiencing ‘terminal restlessness’.
Valor on feet and shoulders or just inhalation can be used when someone is experiencing extreme agitation,
Peppermint is chosen by some clients when they wish to have clarity and communicate with loved ones in heaven and on earth. It is important to know that anyone working with individuals at the end of this body life, those transitioning experience visits and visions of loved ones. Most times it is pleasant, but not always. Sometimes, they need to ‘work’ through unresolved issues. This is when Peace and Calming can be very beneficial.
I always offer a whiff the oil and observe their facial expression. The natural reflex is telling, especially when they are unable to communicate verbally.
I daily wear Valor, Thieves, and Peace & Calming, and sometimes that is enough and your energy field for the client. Most of the time I use White Angelica to clear my energy field and place on my shoulders, but not always.
There are many times when I unexpectantly encounter someone crossing over and they don’t require oils, just your presence.
There is no such thing as a coincidence.
I am blessed to have experienced so many precious souls releasing.
I am always mindful of the family and loved ones present. When they are in a good place and they are open, I do teach them how to apply Sacred Frankincense or Frankincense on their loved ones feet.
There is nothing more beautiful in this earthly world then being present with someone in their heavenly and spiritual transition.” ~ Brenda Charbonneau
