Every so often we hear people asking, “If essential oils are so effective for medical conditions, why are they not being used more in hospitals?” Well, the fact is that over 50 hospitals are exclusively using Young Living Essential Oils, not only for patient care, but for self care for healthcare professionals.
In fact in a few weeks we are starting our fourth group of UCLA Reagan Medical Hospital staff in the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy training, which is a synthesis of holistic wellness practices which include essential oils therapy, yoga, Reiki and contemplative care.
So far, about 180 UCLA Healthcare Systems employees have been trained in the Urban Zen training, and the goal is for every UCLA Healthcare system staff member, who wants it, to complete the 120+ hour program.
The Urban Zen techniques were designed to assist patients by naturally easing the usual discomforts that are associated with being in the hospital. As you can imagine, the feedback from the patients and the program participants has been very very positive!
If you are in Los Angeles, you can click here to find out about the Urban Zen Experience classes, workshops and at Yogaworks.
The Sanskrit word Parigrah means (among other things) ‘to amass’, ‘to crave’, ‘to seek’, ‘to seize’. The deeper sense of the word encompasses the feelings of attachment, as well as the possessions themselves. Aparigraha—the opposite concept— translates as non-possessiveness and contentment with what we have.
If you follow the energy pathway, you will become aware that clutter and chaos actually start with your innermost thoughts and only then end up on your desk, your floor, your closet… dragging you down, holding you back and blocking you from receiving what you want and deserve.
After grounding and opening ourselves during the afternoon’s AromaYoga® practice on July 25th at Yoga Desa in Topanga, Jessica Waters, founder of In Perfect Order and creator of the CLARITY System™, will lead us into an exploration of how Parigrah and Aparigrah are at play in our thoughts, our lives, at home and at work and will offer sage advice on how to craft your surroundings to be in service to the highest reflection of your Self.

Ever feel isolated in your attempts to connect? It’s ironic. Yes, I admit I can be preoccupied with my cell phone, texting or checking my email and totally missing the moment to just be out in the world and available to the present moment with those around me. Just noticing this is a step in the right direction to cultivating your presence.
One of our goals in our Aroma Yoga® classes and our teacher training process is to help restore friendly, healthy human contact and cultivate presence on the planet. As the saying goes, “We are all in this together.”
Whether you are attending a yoga class and getting your props or standing in line at the bank or where ever you can, make a point to connect with a stranger. Make eye contact, smile and say hello. I think this a lost behavior, as most of us have our faces down as we look at our smart phones, texting and facebook scrolling. Would you agree? Initiating friendly social engagement is a powerful way of raising your vibration and of those around you! Give it a try and post your experience!
I thought this pod cast the was recorded last week with my dear friends Londin Angel Winters and Justin Patrick Pierce of Metaphysical Fitness captures and explains just a few of the out comes of Aroma Yoga!
